Winter is hardly over, but plans for summer are already underway. This is especially true if you have family overseas. The summer is often the best time for parents living abroad to come and visit, or an extended vacation where you visit home and meet extended family.

But every vacation has its share of ups and downs and family can be a source of both. Meeting parents or in-laws can be a joyous occasion. Catching up with parents and sharing your life with them is essential to having an ongoing relationship with family who live far away.

It may even remind you of Amitabh Bachchan’s iconic drunk scene in Amar Akbar Anthony, where he interacts extensively with his reflection in the mirror, even going so far as to apply a band-aid to the mirror. The other day I was working with a client who talked about the difficulties in breaking bad habits. Simple bad habits like lazing in bed, having a soda with every meal, snacking mindlessly ... And we decided to create the Smallest Stumbling Block to break up their bad habits. We decided to do something that required almost zero effort, but made it just that little bit harder to do that bad habit. ​
